What is a steppe? What types of plants, animals, and fungi are characteristic of this zone, and why was the city of Konotop actually founded next to the steppes? The answers to these questions can be found in this printed booklet created by Serhiy Panchenko, Doctor of Biological Sciences, botanist, and head of the ecostation "The Rock of Practical Botany".

This booklet was created as part of a marathon of activities on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Ukrainian Climate Network — the largest association of pro-climate public organizations in Ukraine, with the financial support of the NGO Ecoaction and with funding from the Federal Ministry for Economics and Climate Action of Germany within the framework of the International Climate Initiative (ICI) project.
