The Ukrainian Ecostations Network (MEY) is a community of people and initiatives that unite local communities around caring for living nature, restoring and preserving local biodiversity, and promoting sustainable development.

Who Can Become an EcoStation
- environmental initiatives, NGOs, eco-centers, or environmental education projects;
- owners of private estates, eco-activists, educators, or anyone who cares about their community’s environment.
What an EcoStation Does
- conducts biodiversity research (observation, cataloguing, and monitoring);
- organizes environmental education events — meetings, lectures, workshops, and youth eco-weekends;
- implements practical nature-based solutions — waste sorting, composting, greening, eco-trails, regenerative practices;
- develops partnerships with local communities, schools, scientists, and businesses.
Criteria for Joining (Cooperation) with MEY
To become part of the network*, an initiative or organization should meet the basic partnership principles of MEY:
- Alignment with MEY’s mission and principles: the ecostation shares MEY’s vision for environmental protection, sustainable community development, and environmental responsibility, and operates in accordance with the principles of partnership.
- Transparency and accountability: the ecostation commits to ensuring transparent operations and to regularly reviewing and reporting on the outcomes of its activities.
- Readiness for cooperation: the ecostation is willing to actively collaborate with other MEY members, participate in joint initiatives, and share experiences and best practices.
- Commitment to planning: the ecostation demonstrates readiness to systematically plan and evaluate its activities.
*Becoming part of the network means joining the NGO “Ukrainian Ecostations Network” under one of the proposed models of cooperation (see the Concept Note on the Operation of an Ecostation within a Community).
Why Join

Responsibilities of an Ecostation
- conduct biodiversity research and share knowledge about the nature of your community;
- cooperate with the local community, educational institutions, and local authorities;
- uphold MEY’s values and contribute to the implementation of its mission and objectives.
