Monitoring and Inventory of Biodiversity in Kelmenetska AH

Throughout 2022, the eco-station "Khovrashynyi Dvir", together with the staff of the scientific research department of the "Khotynsky" National Natural Park, conducted monitoring and inventory of biodiversity in the Kelmenetska territorial community. Untouched natural areas and settlements of the community were studied. Subsequently, the data obtained will provide an opportunity to analyze the composition of flora and fauna in the region, as well as their condition. Such research will serve as the basis for the protection and preservation of the most valuable and critical species and the creation of new nature reserves.

Study of Bat Hibernation Sites near the Village of Komariv

In 2022, monitoring of bat hibernation sites began. In particular, it was possible to investigate the mines near the village of Komariv. We sincerely thank Mykhailo Drebet, a scientist from the "Podilski Tovtry" National Nature Park, who assisted in the research and identification of the bat species in the Komariv area. We identified three species inhabiting the local mines: the lesser horseshoe bat, the greater mouse-eared bat, and the common pipistrelle. The data obtained were provided to scientists at the "Khotynsky" National Nature Park, as the park's territory is nearby.

Reintroduction of Local Indigenous Fish Species in the Kelmenetska Community

In November 2022, we supported the initiative of a local resident of the Kelmenetska community (village of Mayorka) who is concerned about nature conservation regarding the reintroduction of local indigenous fish species in small water bodies that flow into the Dniester River. The species composition of the ichthyofauna was selected, and approximately 1,000 individuals of various species were stocked.
